Why wood ?
Wood is the simplest way of collecting CO2. The tree is collecting the CO2, forwards the O2 into the air and stores the C in the wood. Trees practically grow on their own. Once grown, it is easy to touch and handle the Carbon.
How do we store the wood
We store the wood in wooden structures. To protect the structure from fire and microbes, we are using salt. Salt keeps the oxigen out so that the wood cannot burn and it keeps the microbes away so that the wood will not rot.
One has found wood in salt mines that was thouands of years old and still in good shape.
Why a farm
There are many reasons why building farms for what we are trying to achive makes sense. The most important aspect is that people have learned over the last years, that climate protection is only good climate protection if one can make a lot of money doing it. Since it is a bit difficult to make a lot of money quickly doing carbon capture, we have designed a highly profitable farm and have designed the bio carbon capture arround it. So the investor has got a highly profitable investment that is a Bio CCS investment by the end of the day.

Organisation
STS Marokko is a startup in Marocco. STS is presently operating a demo system near Dakhla in Morocco. A second site is presently being prepared for more tests.
STS will build and operate the first pilot farms in Marocco.
Carbon Farms Africa is the organisation managing all activities that are not already covered by other branches.
Carbon Farms Namibia is presently being started. It will be operating in Namibia.
Carbon Farms Mauretania is currently being worked on together with the SAREP Project.
